«National holidays» is a series of 8 murals in the center of Moscow dedicated to the national holidays of the CIS countries. Each mural is located near the embassy of a certain country and acts as a kind of guide in the culture and traditions of the nation.
«Snowdrop festival» — the national Tajik holiday of the first snowdrops. In the early morning, the children go to the mountains to collect the first flowers and then give them to their mothers, sisters, and teachers. In response, they give children candies.
«Kupala» — Belarusian national holiday dedicated to the summer solstice and the flowering of nature. The main rituals are jumping over a bonfire and burning wreaths.
«Carpet festival» is a national Turkmen holiday. On this day, carpet fairs and mass celebrations are organized all over the country.
«Kolyada» is a traditional Ukrainian holiday associated with the winter solstice. Later timed to coincide with Christmas and Yuletide. The eight-pointed star is one of the key symbols of carols.
«Uzum Saili» — a traditional Uzbek holiday dedicated to the harvest of grapes.
«Nauryz meiramy» — the traditional Kazakh holiday of the arrival of spring. The main festive dish is nauryz-kozhe, a soup made of seven ingredients.
«Vardavar» is the biggest Armenian summer holiday. It is known for its custom of mutual dousing with water.
«Chechkor» is a harvest festival, which has long been celebrated in Kyrgyzstan. It was associated with the threshing of the harvest and was dedicated to the mythical givers of abundance and good luck.
